"Read This If You Want To Get Rid Of Pain (For Real)

...Without Endless Appointments Or Being Told To Stop."

From The Desk Of Dr. Gavin Sangrey
Salem, Ma.

Dear Friend,

If you’re reading this then that means you’re interested in finding out more about becoming a patient at MoveMore.

Now I suppose this is where I’m supposed to “sell” you on why you should come to us. But frankly, ...

We aren't for everyone. And in fact,

"The Single Biggest, Most Expensive, Time-Sucking Mistake You Can Make While Dealing With Your Pain Is Picking The Wrong Provider."

You see, I learned that lesson the hard way.

14 years ago, I suffered from bad sciatic pain after being too ambitious at the squat rack.

Initially, I tried ice, heat, Advil, every Youtube stretch I could find. I foam rolled. I sat on a lacrosse ball. I lathered my back with Icy Hot. I tried everything, but nothing worked.

After a month of DIY, I finally decided to get some professional help.

If This Is Where You Find Yourself Right Now, Then Pay Close Attention...

For the next seven months, I shuttled from chiropractor to physical therapist to my PCP and back again. I got x-rays. I got an MRI. Yet nothing helped for more than a couple of days.

I wasn’t able to work out. I gained weight. My confidence plummeted. Until finally, at the 8-month mark, I got connected with a PT/chiro tandem who not only got me out of pain but back to the gym.

Here’s the kicker:

Had I just found those last two guys from the get-go

I COULD Have Saved $1320, 8 Months Of Frustration And 43 Car Trips To Useless Appointments.

Maybe this is where you find yourself right now. You’ve been through the healthcare ringer.

In which case, I think you’ll probably agree with me when I say, there are a lot better things you could be doing than driving to appointments that aren’t doing anything.

See, the main reason why people come to MoveMore is NOT because they want to be “re-aligned,” get cracked, massaged, or have a relaxing wellness experience.

Of course, in the end our patients do feel relaxed and less stressed, but that’s because the REAL reason people become patients at MoveMore is for one thing:

To Feel Normal Again

They don’t want to have to go to weekly standing appointments to feel "put together" and "balanced."

They don’t want the same cooker-cutter treatment that the retired school teacher and the 20-something powerlifter sitting in the waiting room are getting.

They don’t want the same rehab that their 76 year old mother got after her hip replacement.

And they don't want to be told to stop.

Instead, they want focused, straightforward care. They want to be treated like an n-of-1.

Basically, they want me to figure out exactly what they need to do to get back to whatever it is they're missing out on … and then help them do it.

On The Verge Of Mental Insanity

Take my patient, Kevin, for example.

He and I met in 2018, at a hip mobility workshop that I led at a local CrossFit. At the time, his body was pretty beat up from past injuries and fatigued from his high-stress finance job.

Kevin worked out every morning at 5am before hopping on the commuter rail for his routine 12-hour day.

His morning workouts mentally prepared him for the rest of his day.

So you can imagine his frustration when he couldn’t squat or deadlift without stabbing back pain.

Anyways, with Kevin it was obvious that we absolutely had to keep him working out while we dealt with his back issue.

Just by switching him from a back squat to a front squat and a conventional deadlift to a sumo-style, he was able to continue lifting with minimal discomfort.

This meant he could continue to workout while we were dealing with his back issue on the side.

The result?

He got stronger in other areas while we fixed his back pain simultaneously - which incidentally was caused by his squat stance and locked hips.

Now what’s crazy is that the same kind of pain may be fixed for one person in a completely different way than in another.

For example, another patient of mine, Aimee, came to me with acute sciatica. It started a few days before when she went to sit down on a chair expecting it to be firm - except it was soft. Her back immediately seized up.

Aimee was up from Miami visiting family in Swampscott. Her husband had to stay home for work, so it was just her and her two boys (2 & 5).

“I can’t take care of my kids if I can’t move. I have no idea how I’m getting back to Florida like this,” she said.

And she was right. Having to constantly bend over to pick up her boys or get her youngest one out of the crib while dealing with radiating nerve pain down her leg? That’s awful!

Anyways - the first time we met, I helped Aimee modify her movements so that she could take care of her boys without aggravating her back pain.

Over the next couple sessions, I helped her continue to progress her movement and get stronger. Two weeks later Aimee and her boys returned to Florida.

She texted me from the Miami airport, “I made it! No pain!! Thank you so much!”

More Relief In 1 Month Than In The Previous 9 Years

I have another patient, Eric.

He’s dealt back pain for most of his adult life. Eric's an athlete. He wrestled in college, but with his desk job ... and more recently with COVID, he hasn’t been able to be as active as he’d like. Eric decided to work with us because he needed to get past his back issue but also wanted guidance for getting back into a meaningful yet safe exercise routine.

(This is a common reason why people work with us and one that I personally love.)

Turns out, Eric experienced more relief in the first month of working with us than he had in the previous 9 years due to two small tweaks.

Here’s what they were:

First, his work setup. I wrote a letter to his employer so that he could get a sit-stand desk. And we installed an app on his computer to remind him to move.

Second, he bought a kettlebell, and I programmed out a simple exercise circuit that he could do every morning for 20 minutes.

It’s only been a month, but he's already noticing big changes. He has minimal back pain while sitting. He feels stronger. Plus, he's noticed more productivity and focus at work.

“My back is feeling good. And this has been the kick in the butt I needed.”

"RED FLAG" Leads To Surprisingly Quick Relief

I have a newer patient. His name is Tom.

We had our first session a few weeks ago, and we made some small tweaks that led to some surprisingly quick relief.

Here’s what happened.

Tom is training for his first triathlon and has been dealing with knee pain while running.

Some providers hate working with runners. I love it.

Running injuries are complex, so unfortunately many runners are mis-managed.

Tom had been to a few other providers before me. None of them watched him run.

This immediately raised a “RED FLAG” for me because a majority of running injuries are due to training errors. So typically by addressing the running plan or form, you can fix an injury.

Anyway, I had him hop on the treadmill to take a quick look at his form.

Turns out he was overstriding and landing with a locked leg. His knee was getting a lot of force going through it with every stride.

So I said, “Why don’t we try to just shorten your stride by increasing your cadence to take a little shock off of your knee?”

We switched him from a 150 cadence to a 162 … only a 5% change.

A week later Tom texted me he was running with only minor discomfort.

I bet he’ll be running completely pain free over the rest of our time together.

She Finally Threw Away "The List"

Then there’s Mary.

Mary’s in her late 30s, travels for work. To stay active she follows along with YouTube workouts. But due to some annoying chronic shoulder pain, pushups and burpees have always been uncomfortable.

When Mary became a patient her shoulder pain had gotten to the point that she couldn’t even put on deodorant without sharp pain. Even her muscles on the painful side were noticeably smaller.

When Mary came to her first appointment she brought “The List.”

I get "The List" about four times a year.

“The List” is the names of every healthcare provider someone has been to previously for the same issue.

There were fourteen names on Mary’s list.

When I first met her, I said, “Let’s forget about your shoulder. Let’s just focus on your neck.”

Here’s why:

Anytime someone has symptoms in their arms or legs, it’s IMPERATIVE to find out if it’s being referred from the neck or back first.

Sure enough, a few weeks into working together and Mary’s shoulder discomfort had disappeared. She regained most of her range-of-motion.

We modified some pushups. Plugged some shoulder drills into her routine. And two months later she was doing pullups.

What Do All Of These Stories Have In Common?

First, the obvious.

They are my patients, and they all experienced noticeable relief within weeks.

But there’s also something else that’s easy to overlook. It’s this:

We Kept Everything Simple.

Go read those stories again.

Every time I figured out what was causing the pain ... we then plugged in simple, intuitive modifications so that my patients could get back to some level of normalcy starting on day 1.

Look.

Pain is complex. And it's easy to get sucked into trying the next gadget, the newest funky-looking exercise or social media health fad to get relief.

But if there's anything I've learned in my experience, it's this:

Keep it simple and keep it personal.

And when we do that, relief is typically faster and sustainable.

Imagine how you would feel if you were more comfortable at work … if you had confidence in your body’s ability to hold up with exercise … heck, if you could just do some yard work without feeling it for the next week.

My guess is that you’d be happier … more rested … more energetic … and more focused. All by finally getting out of pain … but for real this time.

I want to help you get long-standing, permanent relief by simplifying what it is that you have going on and creating a personal relief plan for fixing it.

Does That Sound Like What You're Looking For?

If it is, I can help you. BUT THERE'S ONE BIG CAVEAT.

Getting sustainable pain relief isn’t a quick fix.

It requires changing deep-rooted habits and patterns. It will take time, effort and energy.

In order for me to really help you, I need to work with you for several weeks.

If you’re interested in working together...

Here's How We Do Things

We have an application process for prospective patients. This is to filter out any tire-kickers and “quick fixes.”

But more importantly, it's to ensure that your and my expectations align.

Remember: The single biggest, most expensive, time-sucking mistake you can make while dealing with your pain is to pick the wrong provider.

If we decide to move forward together, then we ask you to commit to several sessions. This will allow us to build momentum and get you real relief.

The entire focus of our sessions together will be to find the cause of your pain

Then get rid of the pain and get you stronger and more prepared against this type of thing in the future.

We accomplish this by meeting in person and by talking on the phone and emailing as needed.

Now…

Before You Apply, Let Me Be Brutally Honest

We are not in-network with ANY insurance companies.

Plus, you’ll be required to implement what we do in our sessions together on your own time. (ie: you gotta work at it).

What else, oh right … obviously I cannot promise any specific results within the time frame of working together.

First of all, it's actually illegal for me to do so, plus...

As with anything health-related, your results will vary and depend on many factors … including but not limited to your current health, medical history, your work ethic, etc..

All healthcare options come with the risk of not feeling better in the end. If you are unwilling to accept that, please do not apply to become patient.

With that said ..

Here's How To Apply

1. Click the big orange button at the bottom of this letter.

2. After you fill it out, I’ll review it personally.

3. If I think we *might* be a good fit, I’ll have my office assistant, Kate, reach out to you by email and schedule a call between you and I personally.

5. That call will be maybe 20 minutes. I’ll answer any questions you may have (as well as ask you some of my own). If at the end, we decide it’s a good fit, I'll invite you to become a patient.

If you feel like this is right for you, click the “Apply Now” button below and fill out the application.

It’s worth nothing that due to the large amount of contact time I have personally with my patients, I work with a much smaller patient load than many traditional clinics. If you are seeing this webpage, it means we are currently accepting new patients.
